What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who we are
N17 Bodyworks Ltd is the data controller for your information. You can reach us at contact@n17bodyworks.com, on 07777 253333, or at Units 25-26, Nesta Works, Brunswick Square, London N17 8ES.
What we collect and why
We collect only what we need to quote for work, carry it out and keep proper records: your name and phone number, your vehicle make, model and registration, photographs of the damage and the finished work, insurance details where the job is a claim, and payment records. We do not store card numbers. We do not buy or sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
| What we do with it | Our lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Give you a quote you asked for | Steps before a contract |
| Do the repair and keep you updated | Our contract with you |
| Handle an insurance claim | Contract and legitimate interest |
| Keep invoices and job records | Legal obligation (tax law) |
| Show photos of finished work | Your consent, withdrawable |
Who else sees it
Only where the job needs it: insurers and their assessors, parts and paint suppliers (who may get your registration to supply the right part or paint code), recovery operators, and our accountant and payment provider. Also anyone the law requires, such as HMRC.
If you message us on WhatsApp, your message also passes through WhatsApp Ireland Ltd, part of Meta, under their own policy. Prefer not to? Ring us instead.
How long we keep it
Quotes that did not become a job: 30 days. Job records, invoices and insurance correspondence: 6 years, which is what tax law and the time limit for claims require. Messages: up to 24 months. Photographs used with your consent: until you withdraw it.
This website
We set no cookies of our own and run no analytics or advertising trackers. Your language choice is saved in your own browser and never reaches us. The embedded Google map may set Google's own cookies. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs. Detail is in our cookie policy.
Some providers, including Vercel and Meta, process data in the United States. Where data leaves the UK it is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law allows.
Keeping it safe
Access is limited to the people who need it. Devices are password protected and paper records stay on our premises. If a breach happens that puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and report it to the ICO within 72 hours, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or transfer it. You can object to us using it where we rely on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. Email contact@n17bodyworks.com and we will reply within one calendar month, free of charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office on 0303 123 1113 or at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be made clear rather than edited in quietly.
